Uttar Dinajpur Krishi Vigyan kendra has played a pioneer role in Vermi - compost production in Uttar Dinajpur district. Since inception of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra huge numbers of farmers, farm women, rural youth and school drop out students has been trained with the techniques of Vermi- compost production. Several Farmers' Clubs, women Self Help group has adopted the technology as their livelihood. All they are now working as Entrepreneurship developer in the field of Vermi - compost production. Now they are supplying their produce to the nearby farmers, those are in need of "Jaibo Sar". They also supplying Vermi - compost to Tea gardens of North Bengal.

Uttar Dinajpur Krishi Vigyan Kendra established a IFS unit in its Instructional Farm. Different varieties of fishes like IMC, Local fishes and air breathing fish culture has been reared in the ponds of Uttar Dinajpur Krishi Vigyan Kendra. Hands on Training of the fish farming community of Uttar Dinajpur district is being organized at these ponds which help them as live demonstration unit. Apart from this One Nursery Management Ponds for fish fry rearing, another Nursery pond for Fish fingerlings rearing has been kept for Farmers' demonstration. Air breathing fish culture has huge demands in this locality, keeping in mind the demand a air breathing fish breeding unit has been established in the Instruction Pond area with financial assistance of RKVY. Every year huge numbers of air breathing fish breeding are being carried out which meets demands of the fish farming community of Uttar Dinajpur district.

Uttar Dinajpur Krishi Vigyan Kendra has been established on 2005 with the financial assistant of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India under the aegis of Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya with the Infrastructure of Administrative Building, Farmers Guest House etc. Farmers' Guest House is a two storied building with capacity of 25 nos. bed facility. 1st Floor comprises of Dinning Hall, Kitchen, a Guest House for the official personnel those accompany with farmers from different blocks of the district and another two bedded VIP Guest House for those coming for Visit purposes to the Krishi Vigyan Kendra. 2nd Floor comprises with two bed rooms one with 12 bedded and another with 13 bedded where farmers stay at nights those are coming for more than one day training, Mela and other purposes. Each bed is furnished with Wooden cot, Reclon mattress, fine bed sheet, pillow with fine cover, blanket for winter and mosquito net.

Uttar Dinajpur Krishi Vigyan Kendra has proved its Instructional Farm as one of the best Agricultural farm in this region. Different Dignitaries visited from ICAR Institutes, Host University, Other Universities, NGOs from the districts and outside of the district, West Bengal Government Line Department and other agencies acclaimed their good wishes to the farm. Farmers from the district and and out of the district are coming here for Exposure visits. This farm has introduced nos. of new varieties of paddy in the district that has become very popular throughout the district later on. For High value cash crop like Broccoli, Red Cabbage, Color Capsicum, Strawberry, Guava cultivation Uttar Dinajpur Krishi Vigyan Kendra has played lead role to introduce in the district first. Through Cluster front Line Demonstration Programme Pulse and Oil Seed crops area has been increased in the district.

Uttar Dinajpur Krishi Vigyan Kendra has been rearing a Black Bengal Goatery farm since 2012. Black Bengal variety is one of the best in the world in its class. So Krishi Vigyan Kendra has been preserved germplasm of this variety. Total 22 numbers of black bengal goats are there in the farm now. Few goats will be distributed to the tribal farmers under a special project running by Uttar Dinajpur Krishi Vigyan Kendra with financial assistant of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Ministry of Agriculture, Govt of India at Tribal Sub Plan Project.

Soil Testing las was established at Uttar Dinajpur Krishi Vigyan kendra with the financial assistant from RKVY project.

One guest room with two nos of bed facility is being provided by Uttar Dinajpur Krishi Vigyan Kendra. This has been functioning for guests who are visiting Uttar Dinajpur Krishi Vigyan Kendra time to time. Air conditioned with good quality attached bath room facility are being provided to the visiting guests. Prior call booking or on spot booking are available those who are coming to Uttar Dinajpur Krishi Vigyan Kendra for official purposes.

IMC Breeding Unit - An IMC breeding unit has been established in Uttar Dinajpur Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Chopra, Uttar Dinajpur with financial assistance of RKVY project where fish breeding has been conducted as per requirement of adjoining fish farmers of the district.

A Kitchen Garden - Organic Farm Unit has been working in Uttar Dinajpur Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Chopra, Uttar Dinajpur since its inception. Kitchen Garden - Organic Farm unit has been demonstrated to the farmers of the district those who are coming to Krishi Vigyan Kendra and as well as for the farmers of the other district those who are coming through excursion visit programme. It demonstrate how a farmer can be self sufficient on house hold needs vegetables by using a small plot of land adjoining to his/her home. It supports for nutritional needs of family.

Bio Input production is being use for production of Bio pesticide (fungicide) like Trichoderma Viridii, Pseudomonous , flurocence, Azospiralium, Azotobector etc and Mushroom spawn production. It is used in CFLD, FLD, OFT purpose, KVK Instructional farm and other purposes as when required to demonstrate the technology as well as for crop production and for crop protection like Seed treatment, Soil application, Seed priming etc.

KVK has established a Seed Grading unit where paddy seed grading are being done before supply them to the farmers of the district. KVK has been given top priority to its seed quality before its supply. Seed grading machine here playing important role for quality control of KVK produce seed.

KVK has established a seed Godown to store its produced seed in a better way with protection of Natural calamity, insect's infestation and other issues that harm seed in conservation. Air tight drums, sack bags and other utensils are being used in godown to store KVK produced seed in the godown.

KVK has small thrashing floor where KVK produced crops are being thrashed for harvesting purposes. This thrashing floor is not sufficient as compared to KVK produced crops. Therefore KVK should get bigger thrashing floor for future use with financial assistance from any other organization.

KVK has small farm implements shed where different farm implements are being kept for their better conservation. Present Farm Implements shed is very small as compare to KVK's farm implements. Therefore a big Farm Implement unit should be established for future use with financial support from ICAR.

KVK has one (01) 30 seated Seminar Hall adjoining to KVK Training Hall no. 2 in 1st Floor of the administrative building. This seminar Hall was established with the financial assistance of RKVY Project which is now being used for KVK meetings, High dignitaries meeting, KVK SAC and other purposes.

Uttar Dinajpur KVK has started a small hatching unit where poultry birds ,duck and koyel birds egg are hatched in an small quantity to meet up the need for farmers demonstration units. After while farmers can grow up them commercially and then develop themselves economically
