Objective: To promote bee protection and breeding by informing farmers about the importance of bees in crop production and To express gratitude towards bees.
Pre Event Description :
The online ‘Bee Seminar’ program will be conducted through Deendayal Research Institute Krishi Vigyan Kendra Ambajogai (Digholamba). On the occasion of Commemoration of 75th year of India’s independence, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi, has organized various agricultural programs across the country, as part of the World Bee Day (May 20).

Chief Guest's Remarks:Dr. Devsarkar, In his inaugural address, told the farmers that bees are very useful in increasing the production of oilseeds. Bees are of great benefit for quality seed production. The germination capacity of seeds pollinated by bees is higher. It also helps increase productivity. The bee visits each flower several times, thus increasing pollination and consequently increasing yield.

There is a huge demand for bee products in the market. Honey is very important for human health. Per capita honey consumption in India is very low compared to the global level. He opined that if the production of honey increases, the consumption of honey will increase. Honey is important for boosting the human body's immune system during the Kovid epidemic. The number of bee colonies will have to be increased in large numbers to increase honey production. He asserted that it would directly benefit the farmers and increase the productivity of food grains, oilseeds and fruits.
