Objective: International Women’s at KVK premises on 08.03.2020. Programme was inaugurated by Dr.P.Santhi, Professor and Programme Coodinator, KVK, Tiruvallur and highlighted the importance of balanced nutrition and emphasized the importance, value addition in Agriculture and Horticulture produce.

Programme was inaugurated by Dr.P.Santhi, Professor and Programme Coodinator, KVK, Tiruvallur and highlighted the importance of balanced nutrition and emphasized the importance, value addition in Agriculture and Horticulture produce. Also, she has also explained the Nutri-garden established at KVK,Tiruvallur, various trainings and activities being conducted to the benefit of farmers and farm women. Mr. P. Stephen, Tiruvallur district IRCDS, Scheme Officer, delivered a special address on importance of nutrition and establishment of nutri-garden at Anganwad centre. Tmt. Sahaya Mary, Coordinator, Women’s Collective NGO, Thottikalai explained the history of Women’s day celebration and also explained the role of women in farming and in other enterprises. SHG women sang a song on Women’s liberation and equality in society.Training on Agro-climatic zone based Nutrigarden establishment for nutrition security was explained by Dr. G. Sathish, Asst. Professor (Horti.).
