Post Event Details:One day training pragram entitled 'Feed and fodder management folivestock' has organized by department of Animal Husbandry, Jilha Parishad Beed (MS.) under Kamdhenu Dattak Gram Yojana. Total twenty one farmers participated in training program. Livestock development officers and livestock supervisors were actively involved in this program. I have covered topic such as high yielding green fodder variety, silage technology; azolla production technology and processing for enrichment of low quality fodder for livestock. Most of the dairy farmers facing problems of high quality green fodder at the time of livestock rearing. So that it ultimately hammer milk production and farmer income. Silage production is the better option for dairy farmer to provide nutritious feed to livestock. Surplus produced green fodder in kharif season can be use to produce silage. I have suggested dairy farmer to produce high quality nutritious feed azolla and fed to livestock 1 to 1.5 kg per day for better nutrition of livestock and for reduction of feeding cost. Azolla provides high quality protein and minerals to livestock. During feed scarcity, enrichment of low quality fodder is the one of the best option for livestock grower such as two per cent urea treatment, jiggery, salt treatment etc. Along with this three method demonstrations have been performed for actual practical experience of farmer i.e. azolla feed production technology, 2 per cent urea treatment to straw and compost preparation.
