Objective: To make aware the farmers about the importance of soil health management practices.
Pre Event Description :
KVK, Solapur-I has planned to celebrate The World Soil Day and organizing training programme on soil health management. Also planned to scientist visit to farmers field. During the celebration of World Soil Day, Soil Health Cards will be distributed to farmers by the auspicious hands of public representatives.

Chief Guest's Remarks:Farmers should give much importance to the scientific farming. So that we could experience the bumper yield & for that we should be in touch with KVK, Solapur.
Post Event Details:KVK, Solapur-I had celebrated World Soil Day by organizing training programme on Soil Health Management. Also conducted scientist visit to the practioners of organic farming. Sau. Swatitai Shatgar, Member, Zilla Parishad, Solapur was the chief guest of the programme. This function was presided over by Dr. L. R. Tambade, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK, Solapur. Other dignitaries present on this occasion were Sau. Surekhatai S. Gundargi, Sarpanch, Salgar. In the presidential speech Dr. L. R. Tambade, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK, Solapur-I focused on soil health issue. He said that we always intended to draw from the land but not serious about the quality input addition to soil. So we should go far green manuring, use STBF, use of bio-fertilizers. So that our soil becomes healthy to give return in the form bumper yield. In the introductory session Mr. P. A. Gonjari, SMS (AE), briefed about the background to organize the programme. Mr. Rajendra Waware, Programme Assistant (Lab Technician) had elaborated soil health card programme, importance of soil & water testing in soil health management. He also taught how to read the soil testing report. Soil health cards was distributed to the farmers of village Salgar, Hattikanbus, Chikkihalli. Mr. A. B. Shastri, SMS (Agro.) also given the pinpoint information about Chickpea & Sorghum. After the technical session plot visit to organic farmers field was conducted.
