Objective: The Breastfeeding week is being celebrated by the KVK, Bathinda with the aims to highlight the huge benefits that breastfeeding can bring to both the health and welfare of infants, as well as a wider push for maternal health, focusing on good nutrition, poverty reduction and food security.
Pre Event Description :
Dr. J S Brar, Assoc. Director (Trg.), KVK Bathinda inaugurated the event on 1 st August, 2018 at KVK Bathinda in which more than 50 farm women, pregnant and lactating mothers and rural youth participated. The Event is being organized at different locations namely Govt. ITI, Bathinda, Aganwari workers Training centres and Jodhpur Romana. A Radio Talk delivered on 4th August, 2018 regarding ‘Breastfeeding & supplementary foods for Infants’ by Dr. J K Brar, Assoc. Prof.(Home Sc.), KVK Bathinda. Practical demonstrations on preparation of nutritious recipes and supplementary foods for infants are also being given to participants. Related literature is also being distributed among the rural women.
