Description : A one-day awareness raising pilot workshop for farmers on PM KUSUM (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan) Component A was organized by ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Nadia-II, in coordination with GIZ India. Dr Sanjay Kumar Ray, Senior Scientist and Head of KVK Nadia, who provided an overview of PM KUSUM Component A. The chief guest Dr Narayan Chandra Sahu, former Senior Scientist and Head of Sasya Shyamala Krishi Vigyan Kendra and facilitator of NSFI, emphasized the significance of the PM KUSUM yojana. He elaborated on the concept of Agriphoto Voltaic (APV) systems, their various types, and the benefits to the farmers. Dr. Sahu also discussed critical factors for establishing an APV unit, including site selection, crop selection, and crop light requirements. He further provided information on procurers, finance options, and cost breakdowns for setting up such system.A total of 30 farmers and farm women from different blocks of Nadia district actively joined.

Students participating in the RAWE program get to experience serving as a liaison between farmers and research institutions as well as an advisor. The RAWE program will assist them in compiling a report on each activity they have completed and presenting it to a panel of experts. Understanding the rural environment, the agricultural technologies that farmers utilize, and the challenges that farmers confront will be helpful to the students. Furthermore, establishing a connection with farmers through KVKs will assist them in comprehending the real barriers to farmers' use of technology, as well as the practical issues.

Dr. Sanjay Kumar Ray emphases special focus on the development of organic fodder and its significance for successful dairy farming. He also asks farmers to establish a dairy-based FPO for the marketing of milk and milk products both inside and outside of districts. Mr. P. The celebration's theme was "Soils: Where Food Begins". The celebration included 110 farmers from the villages of Kugachi, Jaikhrishnapur, Gobindapur, and Samastipur, as well as the Headmaster and Assistant Teachers of Gonsaidas Paul Academy, Panchayat Pradhan (Radha Dey) and Panchayat member (Manu Majumder), social workers, and KVK staff. Description : Nitrogen is the most limiting nutrient for crop production and recovery of nitrogen in rice cultivation is low due to its losses through volatilization, leaching, surface runoff and denitrification. Low recovery of N is not only responsible for greater cost of production, but also creates environmental pollution. As a result, a FLD programme on “Popularization of nano urea use in kharif rice cultivation in Nadia District of West Bengal” was carried out in seven villages (Banamalipara, Sutra, Shibpur, Mahanala, Huda, Ichhapur, Tatla) of Chakdah block, covering an area of 11ha and involving 37 paddy growers. During the frontline demonstration programme, famers were advised to apply nano urea twice (at 2ml per litre) as a replacement of granular urea during active tillering and one week before panicle initiation stages, in order to promote nano urea in rice cultivation for improve nitrogen use efficiency and crop productivity.

Description : On 11th Sepetember,2019 one veterinary camp was organized at Banamalipara village of Chakdaha block of Nadia district on the occasion of ‘launching of NADCP for FMD & Brucellosis and National Artificial Insemination Programme’ by honorable PM of India. A total of 71 cows have vaccinated with FMD vaccines and apart from that 171 goats were also vaccinated with PPR vaccines. During the camp 6 pigs were also treated. A total of 51 farmers including 7 SC, 30 ST , 9 OBC and 5 General farmers got benefit from the camp. One on campus training programme was also organized to train 21 farmers about animal health management and they were also shown the lecture of Honorable PM through webcasting. Literature pertaining to the occasion was also distributed among the farmers.

Description : On that occasion many farmers and farm women from different blocks of KVK-II (Nadia) were actively participated. One interaction session was also organized with the farmers and scientists delivered lecture. About 14 farmers were awarded for their significant contribution in animal husbandry and over all agricultural sectors. Some other ICAR institutes, NGOs, SHGs from Nadia district and other parts of country put their exhibition stall and Some NGOs showcased organically produced vegetables during the programme. Tribal dairy farmers also participated and showed their keen interest in the programme.Scientist gathered feedback regarding animal management, diseases, feeding, breeding, organic farming which will be used for refinement of technologies in future. A quize competition on agricultural activities was conducted among the participants. Most of farmers and farm women showed keen interest in each lectures, demonstrations of technical know-how and other aspects of KVK activities.
