Description : A farmers-Scientist interaction was held on 31 st October 2024 at Pangzawl village, Hnahthial District. The interaction was organized by KVK Lunglei District, which was attended by farmers from different agriculture and allied sector including veterinary, WRC, fishery and horticulture crops. During this interaction session, farmers shared their problems and drawbacks they faced from their fields. The problems were then analyzed and discussed accordingly to find suitable solutions. Most of the common problems faced were about good quality seeds, water storage problem, powdery mildew, insect pest, mosaic virus in cucurbits etc. The farmers said they feel very blessed and satisfied that they can attend the interaction session. After the session Field-pea var. KSP 110 and PP chemicals was distributed to each farmer.

Description : The practical demonstration of the Oilseed expeller machine was achieved benefitting about five numbers of progressive Indian mustard (NRCHB-101) growers under NFSM- Oilseeds. The harvested product were eventually extracted oil and oil content per cent were recorded based on different locations. The farmers' were quite happy realizing the potential yield and oil content per cent of the variety. A short interaction programme was also follow and practical experience of farmers' site was also noted for further study.

The various methods for substrate sterilization was demonstrated. The trainees were much interested in chemical sterilization as it could achieve without much expenses on gas stove and firewood for hot water sterilization. Practical demonstration was done and trainees was much interested to practice as job role in achieving extra income generation and entrepreneur. The empowerment of livelihood could be easily achieved through mushroom farming and improving the livelihood sustainability.

After lunch break, 2nd session was stated with animal health camp cum free anti rabies vaccination. Vitamins, minerals supplements etc were distributed to farmers. All the KVKs with more than 25% Tribal population attended the workshop. The workshop was held for 2 days i.e. the 7th and 8th June 2017. The different sessions were: 1. Technological interventions in tribal areas. 2. Experiences of KVKs in empowering farmers. 3. Special Technical session: Group Discussion regarding Future Road Map for empowering farmers and sharing experience of farmers.
