Description : DESCRIPTION: Training cum methods demonstration on introduction of weaning foods for infants(demonstration on preparation of Assam mix) was organised on 10-10-2018 to the lactating mothers of Geku at KVK office. All total 15 nos. of participants attended the training programme. During the training they were told the importance of intensive breast feeding for the first six months for the infants and after six months gradually introducing the complementary foods along with breast feeding for atleast 2 years of infants to meet the sufficient nutritional requirement. They were also demonstrated and taught how to prepare Assam mix i.e. a complementary foods for infants. They took active participant in the method demonstration and the training programme was successfully ended.

Description : A day long training programme was organized on 8th of September 2018 under the supervision of senior scientist Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Upper Siang District, Geku. Seeds of winter vegetables for Front Line Demonstration (FLD) were distributed to 24 farmers during the said programme. An all total of 17 Male and seven Female farmers were participated in the programme. The trainees were found to be exposed to a new way of livelihood and well interacted throughout the program. Various topics on increase production, productivity, reduce loss on post-harvest, knowledge and skill development on agriculture and allied sectors were discussed in addition to e- marketing for doubling of income till 2022. The trainees were highly impressed and asked for more numbers of such programmes.

Huge numbers of gathering could not be achieved due to the peak paddy harvesting season and ongoing visit of Honorable Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh in the district to attend different Government events. Exhibition was organized where KVK had exhibited the modern farming technologies. A competitive farmers exhibition with farm produces were also organized where 18 farmers were honored with prizes of farm improved farm implements. Farmers and public gathered was addressed by Panchayat leaders and KVK Scientist. Farmer’s scientist interaction programme was carried out throughout. More than 45 farmers and other villagers were participated in the first day. But due to the festive season (Christmas and year ending) the participation of farmers in the following days were less.
