Description :
The event was designed with the objective to update the knowledge base of fishers on different aspects of Pre & Post-stocking management practices in Scientific Fish Farming, i.e. site selection, pond preparation, monitoring of water and soil quality parameters, pond manuring, stocking, feeding management, fish health management, partial harvesting, netting etc. so that they can take up Scientific Fish Farming in ponds, excavated under NABARD-Sponsored Watershed Development Project. The event was conducted in a fully participatory mode with structured segments at different villages under “Hatiasuli-Bankber Micro-Watershed Development Project Area” during three consecutive days, i.e. 27-29 June 2018 among different groups of beneficiaries/fishers. Participants were asked to attend follow-up capacity building programmes for refreshing their knowledge level and mitigating challenges/hurdles in undertaking fish farming scientifically.
