Full videos was run on PPT and showed to the villagers. Basic medicines of swine like Anthelminthics,liver tonic, Iron injection, Maggot spray,B-complex injection was demonstrated to farmers . Description : On 12th October 2021, KVK Papum Pare organised a "Special National Swachhta campaign" at Govt.Secondary School Mani village at Doimukh circle. Altogether 98 participants attended the campaign with a theme "Waste to wealth".Awareness on waste to wealth covering topic on waste management of Agriculture produce, recycle of plastic item, segregation of waste into different waste type(Green, Blue, Red), vermicomposting from kitchen waste were highlights by the SSH & SMS of KVK to the participants.Two dustbin with broom were also donated to the school. The School Headmaster Mr.Nabam Reekam and Panchayat leader (Head GB) of Mani village Mr Yab Bola also attended the programme and both of them also throw a light on cleanliness and self discipline to the participants. Later, cleaning of school surrounding were carried out by all the participants.After the programme, the participants were taken to the nearby Vermicomposting unit and given a hands on training of Vermicompost.

During the technical session, Dr. Perme extensively dealt on pig nutrition through PowerPoint position. Central Pig Breeding Farm Veterinary Officer, Dr S Achariya highlighted some common diseases in pigs and prevention and control measures. Dr Nabam Gama, Farm Manager KVK, Papum Pare highlighted on improved management practices on pig husbandry, important points to be considered before construction of sty and maintenance of hygiene for healthy pig stock. In all, 31 service providers of Doimukh, Kimin, Yazali, Kakoi and Yachuli areas were trained during the programme.

During the discussion, he emphasized on importance of clean cultivation, adoption of proper plant spacing, fertility management, tree canopy management, irrigation and timely plant protection measures for better plant growth and good crop yield. After brief discussion, litchi and pineapple orchard is visited to monitor the plant. On litchi orchard infestation of plant bug was seen and then control measures of the pest were suggested to the farmer. Later, litchi orchard of Mr. Yab Tayi, Mani village and Mr. Tana Tara, Midpu village were visited and similarly improper plant spacing leading congestion of tree canopies were seen in these orchard. Scientist tree canopy management were suggested for better fruiting.

Chetri, Director, Rural Self Employment Training Institute, Nirjuli visted the KVK, Papum Pare, Karsingsa on 8th September, 2016 to get exposed on various activities and establishments of KVK farm. The team was received by Mr. Hemanta Ngangbam, Subject Matter Specialist (Horticulture). Mr. Hemanta Ngangbam, Subject Matter Specialist (Horticulture) highlighted about aims and objectives of the KVK. He stressed in details on the purposes mandated activities of the KVK such as on farm trial, frontline demonstration, training and other extension activities. He also explained the importance of soil testing for successful cultivation of commercial crops. Later the visitor were taken in and around the KVK farm to see various activities such as high density planting on pineapple, litchi cultivation, protected cultivation units, agro textile demo unit, model nursery unit, jhalkund and rabbitary. All together 12 farmers were benefitted by this visit.

Mithun Health Camp Training

All together 20 (twenty) farmers’ group leaders belonging to different self-help groups (SHGs) of Yazali area of L/subansiri and Kimin area of Papumpare district along with their community mobilizers where Tata Trust has launched livelihood project under NEIDA is being implemented were trained during the programme. Dr. T. Heli Programme co-ordinator, KVK Papumpare while welcoming all the participating farmers and officials of NEIDA on inaugural day bestowed them that this training has been designed with a bullet form of course module with more of practical oriented nature.

The mega event of Farmers Fair on Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojana winded up with distribution of new variety of paddy seeds and eggs of vanraja birds to the participating farmers.
