Description : To bring the poor and marginal farmers of Jammu & Kashmir in the national mainstream under the Sadhbhavana programme of the Indian Army, a group of 15 farmers from the Kupwara district (Tangdar block) were sent by Shakti Vijay Brigade for training purpose at KVK, Gurdaspur. The training was hold from 04 November, 2017 to 14 November, 2017 at KVK, in which farmers were imparted theoretical as well as practical knowledge in the fields of agriculture and allied sectors. On conclusion of the programmes, Associate Director (Training) of KVK, Dr. (Mrs.) P.K. Ghuman appealed to the farmers to adopt the new agriculture and allied enterprises along with the traditional farming to increase the income. The farmers were also apprised of all the activities running at the KVK. Dr. S.S. Aulakh, Dr. R.S Chhina, Dr.Satwinderjit Kaur, Dr. Mandeep Kaur and Dr. R.K. Dular gave knowledge on different related topics to the farmers.

Sardar G.S. Babbehali Chief Parliamentary Secretary (Agriculture), Punjab inaugurated the fair in the august presence of Sh. P. K. Sabharwal, DC, Gurdaspur and Sh. J.S. Hundal, SSP, Gurdaspur . Sardar. G.S. Babbehali said that PMFBY is a very good initiative being taken by GOI for securing the economic loss of farmers due to crop damage. He also advised the farmers to adopt subsidiary occupations to enhance their income and risk bearing ability. He appealed the farmers to get maximum benefits from the KVKs.
