At all the fields visited whitefly, leaf hoppers and thrips were below ETL and there was no incidence of aphid noticed. Eggs of Chrysoperla and adults (ranged from 0.4 to 3.5 per plant) were found inthe visited fields.

A cleanliness drive was initiated by KVK staff in order to make the proper disposal of trashes and wastes of houses and dairy. People of locality actively took part in the drive. Resident were told to make fertilizers from the bio degradable wastes and trashes by separating the trashes in two part one is biologically degradable and non degradable. Local residents were also advised to grow kitchen gardening and use kitchen wastes bio fertilizers with the theme grow healthy and eat healthy.

Description : A group meeting of about 90 farmers were organized in collaboration of krishi Vigyan Kendra, Cotton Research Station and LLRVAAU DIO lab Sirsa. Dr BS Sheokand (Animal Husbandary), Dr Naresh Kumar (Plant Patholoy) and Dr Dalip Kumar (Entomology) were present as expert. Dr BS Sheokand explained about the management aspects of dairy technology. Dr Naresh Kumar explained the different diseases infesting the cotton, paddy, cluster bean and fodder crop in details. Dr Naresh also emphasized on the integrated approach to control the diseases. Dr Dalip Kumar explained about the list of insect-pests infesting kharif crops in details one by one. Dr Dalip Kumar also stressed on the point to farmers to go for chemical control as a last resort. Description : Farmers were advised to go for chemical control as a last option in insect pests control approaches. When there are the other alternate control methods of pests control tactics are available, which are less hazardous, eco-friendly and low in price, they have to be opted out for that control so that their no loss of farmers money involved in it and directly added to income generated and benefitted directly. At all the fields visited, farmers were spraying chemical in combination of two or more at a time in their fields. During the survey most of the farmers were taught not to use heavy and costly chemical pesticides. They were advocated to use low costs control measures. At all the fields visited whitefly and leaf hoppers were below ETL except Bijjuwali and Matdadu villages. Thrips were not found any of the field visited. Eggs of Chrysoperla and adults (ranged from 1.0 to 4.0per plant) were found in all the fields of visited villages.
