Dr. Vinod Saharan welcomed to the farmers, officers, and discussed detailed activity about In-SITU Crop Residue Management Project to the farmers and told not to burn paddy residue. Sh. Prithviraj discuss of detail about Rice and Cotton sowing crop (Time of sowing, Variety, Fertilizer, etc.).Sh. Pargat Singh FCA deliver a lecture on method of in situ crop residue management. Dr. Ramesh Kumar, discussed detail practices of Rice Crop residue management and feedback from farmers, discussed about departmental subsidy for CRM Machines and decomposition of rice straw by decomposer. Description : World Water Day was celebrated at ICAR-CIPHET Abohar on 22/03/2021 at 4:00 PM in the conference hall. This year, the theme of World Water Day 2021 was "Valuing Water". The value of water is much more than its price. Water has enormous value for households, food, culture, health, education, economics etc. The program was attended by 23 persons including staff members of ICAR-CIPHET Abohar and some farmers. During program, Dr. Pankaj Kannaujia gave a talk on "Importance of water harvesting and water saving in agriculture". Dr Sakharam Kale, Dr Prerna Nath, Dr Mahesh Samota and Sh Pawan Kumar (AAO) also put their views on the topic "Valuing water". Program was ended with the vote of thanks by Dr Sakharam Kale, organizer of the program.

Description : A program on Webcasting of Inauguration of “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi” by Honourable Prime Minister of India was organized at KVK Fazilka on 24th February, 2019 jointly by KVK Fazilka and Horticultural Crop Processing Division, ICAR-CIPHET, Abohar. The farmers were conveyed with the messages of Honourable Prime Minister and Honourable Agricultural Minister and were urged to apply under the scheme and also to spread the message to all fellow farmers. Prime Minister’s “Mann Ki Baat” was then telecasted in front of the gathering. Consequently speech of Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and also speech of Chief Minister of UP were telecasted. The event was followed by the PM’s speech, which was highlighting mainly schemes for the benefit of small and marginal farmers having land less than 2 hectares.
